Jesse Stuart Marrs, 91, of Benton Harbor, former Bainbridge Township building inspector, was pronounced dead on arrival Tuesday at Mercy-Memorial Medical Center, St. Joseph.

The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Michiana Church of Christ, Dowagiac. The body will be cremated. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Chicago. The Kerley & Starks Funeral Home, St. Joseph, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Gateway Vocational Rehabilitation Center, Berrien Springs.

Mr. Marrs was born Dec. 21, 1896, in Chicago, and moved to this area in 1950. He was engaged in farming in Bainbridge Township and served the township as building inspector for 11 years.

Survivors include one daughter, Lois Marrs of Benton Harbor; and two sisters, Marjorie Warner of Minneapolis, Minn., and Mildred Corria of Santa Rosa, Calif. He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther in 1980, and by a son, James, who was killed in 1944 during World War II.
