Mrs Maud Hall Burnett died at the home of a daughter in Birmingham, Alabama, Monday, May 3, 1937, aged 54 years. She was related to numerous people in Summers county.
The remains were brought to this section to the home of her brother, M J Meadows, on Johnstown road, at Beckley, and after funeral services by Rev Ritchie Ware at the Meadows residence, Friday afternoon at 2 o/clock, the body was interred in the Wildwood cemetery.
Mrs Burnette was a native of Raleigh county. The daughter of Rufus and Sarah Meadows, she was born at Abney in 1883. She was twice married, her first husband, Elbert Hall died some years ago. She was later married to C L Burnett, and for some years past had resided in Pittsburg, Pa.
Besides her husband, C L Burnett, of Pittsburg, and her daughter, Mrs Guy, of Birmingham, she is survived by the following brothers and sisters:
M J Meadows, Beckley; Adney Meadows, Hinton; H B Meadows, Lilly; Lon Meadows and Roscoe Meadows, Jumping Branch; Mrs A A Cooper and Mrs Luda Farley, both of Odd; and Mrs Charles McKinney, of Amigo.
