John Franklin Chudy, 95, died on Aug. 20, 2022. He was born March 29, 1927, in Moline, Ill., to Jay and Marie Tschudy.

John moved to Yucaipa in 1991. John met his wife Juanita, on a blind date in 1951. They eloped less than five months after that first date and were married in Yuma, Ariz.

John retired from the Plumber's Union in 1975 and started a General Building Construction Company in 1979. John loved hiking, camping, riding motorcycles, building custom homes and spending time with his family and friends,
John was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

John is survived by his wife of 70 years, Iva Juanita Chudy, his five sons; John, Ron, Dan, Don, Steven; one daughter, Carol Ewing; brother Timothy; 23 grandchildren, 44 Great grandchildren, and two great- great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Aug. 29, at 8:30 am at the LDS Chapel located at 306 East Avenue L in Calimesa. Graveside service will be held Aug. 29, at 10 a.m. at Desert Lawn Cemetery, located at 11251 Desert Lawn Drive in Calimesa. Viewing will be Aug. 29, from 8 to 8:30 a.m. at the LDS Chapel, located at 306 East Avenue L in Calimesa.
