LORION BROTHERS BUSY WITH "EATS" WORK AND BIG RATS

Romeo and Edward Lorion who are in different units and the 101st Regiments in France in letters to their mother, Mrs. Joseph Lorion, 1005 Main Street, write not to worry about them:

"Romeo" says

Just received two letters from you and was more than glad to get them. I tell you mother, this is a great life for a young fellow like me. I am sistting by a nice hot fire writing this letter on a desk which I made in my spare time. All us boys are worrying about over here are is when we are going to get paid and what we are going to eat for the next meal, but we are fed very good, so what more do we want.

"Eddie" writes:

You know where I am, we have lots of "Friends" which I do not like. And you know what they are - "Rats". They are big ones. I am sitting on a sandbag writing this letter, it is not a very comfortable table.

I had a dream about you and father last night. I had a great time, but the next morning I got up and it was a different story. Anyway, I had a good time for one night. When I got up in the morning there were about six rats running around me. I am fine and dandy.
