Our loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, Earl Clinton Oldroyd, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 after a long illness.
Earl was born April 16, 1942 in Moroni, Utah, the second of three children born to Lowell Clinton and Myrth Kendall Oldroyd. Earl grew up in Fountain Green, Utah and loved it there. He graduated from North Sanpete HIgh school in 1960, he played on the basketball and baseball teams and always loved the sport. Earl graduated from Snow College in 1962 and worked as a machinist for 40 years. Earl joined the Utah National Guard in 1965 and served 5 years.
On April 2 1966 he married the love of his life, Charlene Duncan in Bountiful, Utah, later sealed on April 16, 1983 in the Jordan River Temple. They were happily married for over 57 years.
Earl and Charlene were proud parents of three sons; Chad, Burt and Ron. Earl loved spending time with his sons coaching their Little League teams, hunting, fishing, farming, and horseback riding. Earl was an avid trap shooter and loved doing it with his dad, sons, and friends.
Earl was a member of the Church of Jesus of Latter-Day Saints and served in many callings including bishopric, member of the high council, high priest group leaders and spent many years serving in the temple.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents, his sister and brother-in-law Myrna and Jack Nunley, and his brother Lowell Ray Oldroyd. He is survived by his spouse, sons and grand and great grandchildren.
There will be a viewing on Thursday, June 8, 2023, 6-8 PM at the LDS chapel located at 151 South 200 West, Fountain Green.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 9, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS chapel located at 97 W 7500 S, Midvale, Utah. Internment will be at Fountain Green Cemetery.
