Joe Timothy Carter, age 62, of Manila, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2023, at the Great River Medical Center in Blytheville. Born at Keiser, AR to the late Bennie and Margurite Moore Carter, he was raised at Cravens Island and had attended West Ridge Public Schools. Joe had served 8 years in the National Guard and was a member of the People of Praise United Pentecostal Church in Leachville. He had worked for Fleeman Farms in Manila, Buchanan Chevrolet in Osceola, and Abernathy Motor Company in Jonesboro. Joe was an avid hot rod enthusiast and loved competing at George Ray's Dragstrip in Paragould. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Vernon Carter.

1 son, Scott Hill of Batesville
1 daughter, Linda Brooks of Manila
4 brothers, Arthur Carter, Paul Carter, Ricky Carter and Donald Ray Carter all of Manila
3 sisters, Kitty Bunch of Hobe Sound, Florida, Donna Faye Hiser of Ozark, Arkansas and Martha Crow of Newsite, Mississippi
Joe also leaves 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Reverend Mark Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow in the Manila Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Scott Hill, Linda Brooks, Skyler Luker, Tranea Brooks, Chris Hill, and Gunner Brooks. The Family will receive visitors from 12 p.m. until service time on Wednesday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila.
