Bruce Thompson Orr, age 85, passed away on June 11th surrounded by his loved ones. Bruce was born on October 10th, 1937, to Roland Richard Orr and Marjorie Dean Thompson in Twin Falls, Idaho. He was the youngest of 4 children. Bruce moved to Utah around 1950. He graduated from Weber High School in 1956 and married LaVonne Adams that same year. They had 2 children together, Bruce Kim Orr, and Patricia LaVonne "Pati" Campbell (Vern). The family moved to Layton in 1956, then to Roy in 1962. Bruce worked at a few different jobs but spent his career helping to usher in the computer age as a computer programmer for Hill Air Force Base. Bruce had a quick wit and a great sense of humor. He was always cracking jokes at family gatherings and activities. Bruce liked to hunt in his younger days and loved to fish even more. He enjoyed fishing for salmon in Puget Sound with his brother Romer. More locally, his favorite places were Fontenelle and Flaming Gorge, where his children and grandchildren have fond memories of fishing with him. Family was important to Bruce, and he was very proud of his children, grandchildren, and great grand kids.

He retired from The Base in 1990 and would take an occasional part time job whenever he wanted a change of pace. Bruce also liked to go to Wendover, Laughlin, and Jackpot to play cards and slots with LaVonne and friends. For a few years, they were snowbirds making many friends in Parker, Arizona during winters. In 1998 Bruce and LaVonne moved to Westwood Village in Farr West where they lived until LaVonne passed away in October of 2020. In 2022 Bruce moved to Treeo in South Ogden where he made new friends and got a second chance at love. He married his new sweetheart LaRae in a ceremony at Treeo on April 22, 2023. Though the marriage was cut short by Bruce's passing, they loved each other with all their hearts. LaRae stayed by his side in the hospital until the very end with Bruce's last words, a response to hers: "I love you too, baby."

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents and all of his siblings: Romer "Romey" Orr, Dean Orr, and Lila Evert; his wife LaVonne Orr, and daughter in-law Michele Orr.
