Agnes Anita Piscolish Baker, age 81, recently of Cranberry Township, PA, and formerly of Clinton Township, MI, died on June 13, 2023, surrounded by family.

She was born on September 10, 1941, in Yatesboro, PA., the daughter of the late Thomas and the late Anna (née Avi) Piscolish.

Beloved wife of the late John J. Baker, Jr. (born in Sagamore, PA) for 47 years; proud mother of daughters Julie, Kathleen Baker (Schaaf), Christine, Angela (Benjamin Demers) and the apple of her eye, grandson Leo ("the most beautiful child she had ever seen"). Also survived by brother John Piscolish (Virginia) of, and sisters Regina McCarthy (Dan) and Marina Piscolish. She also leaves behind many other important people in her life including Peter Horkitz, Chad Schaaf and Marc Grams, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.

Anita taught in Lakeshore Public Schools in St. Clair Shores, MI for over 45 years, teaching 1st through 5th grades, but she spent 40 years teaching kindergarten. She was ahead of her time in the use of technology in the classroom and even took a semester from teaching in the 1980s to travel around the state to train other teachers how to incorporate computers into their lessons. She was named Masonic Heights Teacher of the Year in the early 2000s and retired in 2005.

Anita was an excellent cook and loved to make meals for her family. She also loved to travel and visited places all over the US (including Hawaii) and also Canada, Mexico, Italy and France.

Anita will be interred in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Yatesboro, Pennsylvania.
