On Saturday, November 13, 2010, of Bethesda, MD. Beloved husband of Edythe W. Cardon and the late Jane Brutton Cardon. Loving father of Martha Cardon Irmer and her husband, David, Sue Cardon Lewis and her husband, Randy and John C. Cardon and his wife, Shailla. Stepfather of Frances W. Card. Granddad of Karen Jane Lewis, Sarah Lewis McElhinney, Laura Michelle Cardon, Jennifer Card Tantum and Matthew Card. Great-grandfather of Jack Randall McElhinney, Patrick Thomas Cannon, Kelly and Sean Tantum, Rohan and Judah Card. Jack was predeceased by two brothers, Reed Smoot Cardon and Robert L. Cardon. Jack was a senior partner in the law firm of Lee, Toomey and Kent, specializing in tax law, profit sharing and pension plans. After retiring he became an active volunteer at the National Arboretum's Bonsai and Penjing Museum. He also expanded his many activities at St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church. He was a member of The University Club, The Potomac Bonsai Association and The National Bonsai Foundation, where he served on their Board of Directors. A memorial service will be held at St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church, 5450 Massachusetts Avenue, Bethesda, MD 20816 on Friday, December 3, 2010 at 11 a.m. Interment Private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his honor to The National Children's Medical Center, 111 Michigan Ave., NW, Washington, D.C. 20010.
