Marina, California - Sandra Frances Barbeau Bortis ("Sandy") was born in Sacramento, CA on July 29, 1942, and resided in Marina,CA until the time of her death, June 11,2023.
She was preceded in death by her husband LT. Colonel Glenn Bortis, as well as her parents, Alice Loretta Barbeau and John Edward Barbeau, and nephew Tyler Gene Quintana.
Sandy is survived by her devoted daughter and caretaker,Kimberly Jensen and son-in-law, Ron Jensen of Marina,CA. Sandy is survived by loved ones, including grandchildren Corey Smith ( Julie) and Daniel Riggs Jr., and great grandchildren Skyler Smith, Cade Smith, Faith Smith and Carter Riggs. She is also survived by her sisters, Julie Quintana (Gene) of Carmichael, CA , Michelle (Rick) Lawrence of Danville, CA. Lastly, Christina Lawrence, her niece and partner Patrick Wild, and great nephew Weston Oscar Wild.
Sandy attended St. Francis and Sacramento High School, Class of 1960. She was a top producer in real estate with Lyon Real Estate. She sold homes as Sandy Springfield.
Sandy was dedicated to her work and flourished in her career. Her gift of real estate knowledge made her life rewarding. She could light up a room with her vibrant personality, dazzling blonde hair, and beautiful green eyes.
Sandy enjoyed interior design and had a natural ability for design and decorating. She loved being around friends, family and her pets, Beau and Blake. She will be deeply missed.
Her loving and devoted daughter and son-in-law,Kim and Ron Jensen, committed themselves to Sandy's care as she confronted the challenges of Parkinson's disease with a strong will to live, even in the last moments.
A private funeral will be held at Calvary Cemetery where Sandy will be placed with loved ones to enjoy eternity.
