Byrl John Holt, age 87, of Newport, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2008, at Baptist Hospital of Cocke County.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Holt; son, Billy Holt; parents, Henry LeRoy and Bernice Reed Holt; brothers, Hoover, Glen, and Edwin Holt; and sister, LaVora Henry.
He leaves one son of Elizabethton, two sons of Newport, one son of Knoxville, 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, two sisters and one brother all of Newport, TN.
Services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 18, 2008, from the chapel of Brown Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Samples officiating. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery.
Family received friends Monday, March 17, 2008, from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Brown Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
