Rev. Curtis R. Delarm, 41, assigned at Saint Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, 4000 Derry Street, Harrisburg, departed this life on Saturday, April 9, 2005.
He was the son of Robert C. and Lily Bobak Delarm. Fr. Delarm was a graduate of the Middletown Area High School and attended St. Charles Borromeo Seminary, Philadelphia and Mount Saint Mary's Seminary, Emmitsburg, MD.
He was ordained a priest on May 27, 1989 by Cardinal William H. Keeler at Saint Patricks Cathedral in Harrisburg. He was assigned to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Lebanon from 1989 to 1992 as Parochial Vicar and St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Hanover from 1992 to 1996 as their Parochial Vicar and also the Spiritual Director for the Legion of Mary; he served as Parochial Vicar from 1996-1997 at Saint Rose of Lima, York and Saint Patricks Church, Carlisle 1997. He was assigned to Saint Catherine Laboure Church from 1997-2005.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Carolyn M. Heffner of Hummelstown; three brother, Craig W. and wife, Darla Delarm of Spokane, WA, Christian R. and his wife, Renae Delarm of Peco, TX and Duane A. Delarm of Middetown; and several nieces and nephews.
A transfer of the body will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday, at Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Middletown. The viewing will be from 4-7 p.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Louis P. Ogden as celebrant. On Wednesday, the transfer of the body will be at 4 p.m., at Saint Catherine Laboure Church, Harrisburg, with a Vigil Service at 7 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, at St. Catherine Church, with the Most Rev. Bishop Kevin C. Rhodes as celebrant and the Rev . Daniel Mitzel as Homolist. Burial will be in the Priest Circle at Holy Cross Cemetery, Harrisburg.
Memorial contributions may be made to Saint Catherine Laboure Church, 4000 Derry Street, Harrisburg or to Seven Sorrows Church, 280 Race Street, Middletown.
