Mrs. Maria Anna Georgine Balken, 52, of Fayetteville, died Friday, March 21, 2008, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
A funeral Mass of Christian burial was said at 11 a.m., March 26, 2008, at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street, directed by Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service and Crematory of Fayetteville.
Surviving are her husband, Gordon Nicholi Balken of Fayetteville; two sons, Anthony Rivera and Stephen M. Rivera, both of Fayetteville; stepdaughter, Sarah Balken of Minnesota; father and mother, Levi and Ingeborg Bowling, both of Fayetteville; two sisters, Daniela Strother of Fayetteville and Vicki Jean Dingus of Jacksonville; seven brothers, George R. Bowling, Klaus John Bowling, Gerald Bowling, Werner Bowling, James Bowling, all of Fayettteville, Carlie Bowling of Tennessee and Carl Michael Bowling of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 7 to 9 Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service in Fayetteville.
Services are entrusted to Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service of Fayetteville.
