Carole J. Blystone, 69, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2023 at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, Utica after a lengthy illness.
She was born in West Carthage, N.Y. on January 2, 1954, a daughter of Albert J. and Georgia Wetmore Stone. She was the 7th of ten children and moved to Old Forge with her family when she was 6 years old. She graduated from the Town of Webb High School in 1972, and waitressed at various restaurants in the Old Forge area. She was united in marriage with Philip Blystone in 1978 and the couple moved to Remsen. Carol waitressed at the White Birch Inn, Remsen as well as Penn Mountain Inn. The job she loved most was driving school bus at Remsen Central School, for 37 years until retiring in 2021. She dearly loved all of the children.
Carole was an avid reader and enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren play sports at school.
Surviving are her husband, Philip; a daughter and son-in-law, Jessica and Brad Jones, Remsen; a son and daughter-in-law, Joshua and Filomenia Blystone, Floyd; 4 grandchildren, Wyatt, Morgan, and Dylan Jones and Nora Blystone; siblings, Bob and Sandi Stone, Janice Stelzer, Pat Smith, Nancy Nichols, Rita Jones and Diane Stone; many nieces and nephews, cousins and many great friends from bus driving. She is predeceased by her parents, a brother, William Stone, and 2 sisters, Donna Zehr and Sue Crandall.
