Kate (Chie) Shinto Aamold, 87, of Bolivia, NC (formerly of Fayetteville, NC) passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at her home surrounded by family.
She was born in Japan on September 2, 1935.
Kate was preceded in death by her husband, Retired SSG US Army Lawrence R. Aamold in 2014.
Survivors include three daughters, Linda Brown of Johnson City, TN, Shirley A. Hyman and husband John of Bolivia, Elizabeth "Liz" Rushing and husband Kevin of Wasilla, Alaska; grandchildren, Bryan Matta (Malissa), Nicholas Matta, Wesley Matta (Cate), Cory Rushing, Paige Laugisch, (Chloe) and Tiffany Qualls (Joe). Four great-grandchildren Naomie, Oscar, Yilva, and Dexter.
Memorial services are being held at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake, NC on March 17, 2023, at 2 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be made to Wounded Warriors Family Support.
