Gerald Elvin, known as "Jerry", was the sixth child of Theron Octavius Llewellyn Rogers and Ingar Sophia Amelia "Millie" Mortensen. He was killed in World War II.
He was a B-24 bomber pilot with the 8th Army Air, 392 Bomb Crew, out of Wendling, England, 578 Bomb Squadron. His plane was called the "Bad Penny" but the plane he was flying on the day he was shot down was called "Double Trouble". His nickname in the service was "Buck" Rogers after the cartoon character by that name. This particular air loss was the 2nd greatest in WWII. The air crew report # is #04444.

Theo Grow Henderson turned in the birth date 2 Jan 1917 to the Family History Center. I have not verified the date.

He graduated from Salinas High School and Junior College. He also was employed as a bookkeeper at Bigham's before he entered the service.
