FATHER OF CARROLL MAN DIES AT MAGNET
Robert Sherman McAlexander of Magnet, father of Seth McAlexander of Carroll, died August 16 from heart trouble with which he had been ill since May. Funeral services were held Wednesday last week at the Magnet Methodist Church and interment was made in Randolph Cemetery.
Mr. McAlexander was born on July 25, 1864, in Champaign County, Ohio. He lived in Indiana and Iowa and married Miss Cora Damon in 1884 in Montgomery County Iowa. The family came to Nebraska in 1917 and lived on a farm near Carroll where Mrs. Alexander died in 1922. In 1924, he moved to Magnet and had since lived with his daughters, Mrs. George Young and Mrs. Floyd Delozier.
Mr. McAlexander leaves six daughters and one son as follows, Mrs. Young and Mrs. Delozier of Magnet, Mrs. Pearl Uhler of Bartley Nebraska, Mrs. Dick Young and Mrs. Clyde Thomas of Shelton Nebraska, Mrs. Wade Conkling of Illinois, and Seth McAlexander of Carroll. Mrs. John Sayres of Stanton, another daughter, died a few years ago.
