In the town of McCalla, Alabama, a light has faded. Janet (Janice) Faye Bush, a beloved member of the community, has passed away at the age of 77. She was born on September 24th, 1945, in Carbon Hill, AL to Henry Ervin Mason and Erma Carter Mason. Her love and memories will live on in her surviving family. Janice's life was one of service, both to her community and to her family. She attended Hueytown High School, and later worked at the Board of Equalization at the Bessemer Courthouse until her children were born. But her true calling was as a devoted wife to her husband, Gordon Randall Bush Sr, and a loving mother to her children, Julie Faye (Bush) Kuhn, Valerie Renee (Bush) Morrison, and Gordon Randall Bush Jr. Her six grandchildren Zac, Sarah, Bo, Alexa, Devon and Lily and two great-grandchildren, Runa and Foster were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Janet's faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was a devoted member of the Republic Baptist Church. Her love for her family was only matched by her love for travel, and she took every opportunity to explore new places with her loved ones. As we mourn Janet's passing, let us also celebrate her life. Her service will be honored at a ceremony at the Bessemer Brown Service Funeral Home in Bessemer, AL on June 29th. Visitation will be from 1pm-2pm with the service to start at 2pm. Pastor Guy Moore of Republic Baptist Church will lead the service. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributing to St. Jude's Hospital, a charity that was close to her heart. Janet Faye Bush was a light in our community, and her absence will be felt deeply. But we take comfort in knowing that she is reunited with those who have gone before her, and that her legacy will live on in the memories of those she touched in life. Rest in peace, Janice, and know that you are loved.
