David Loyal Austin, 66, of Levelland passed from this life on March 23, 2023. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, April 3, 2023, in the Krestridge Funeral Home Chapel.

He was born September 18, 1956 to Maxine and Loyal Austin. David lived in Levelland and surrounding areas most of his life. He graduated from Smyer High School in 1975. David joined the Marines at 18, where he served a short time before being injured and honorably discharged.

David was a welder in the oilfield for over 45 years before retiring in 2021. In his younger years, he loved to ride bulls and go dancing. David turned his cowboy boots for golf shoes as he got older.

You could always count on David to joke around and be ornery. He had a big heart, loving wife, and found God before going home to be with him.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Maxine and Loyal Austin; brother, James Austin; and son, Stacy Austin.

He is survived by his wife, Jerilyn Austin; daughters, Hollie (James) Mills, April (Jeff) Lightner and Savanna (John) Castillo; son, Trace (Jessika Gaona) Austin, 13 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.
