Sherry Jane Hambrick Drummond passed away June 21, 2023, at her home in Hiawassee,
Georgia after an extended, courageous battle with cancer. She is preceded in
death by her parents, Bernice and Martin Hambrick. She is survived by her
husband, Scott Drummond; daughter, Amanda McDaniel; grandchildren, Ali
Johnson, Caden McDaniel, Ryder Malmberg; great granddaughter, Oakleigh
Johnson; sister, Senator Brenda Stanley of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; brother, Gerry "Buzz"
and wife Peggy Hambrick of Gainesville, Georgia. Sherry was a member of the
American Legion Aux Post #23, she proudly supported all American Military
Veterans, was a Boy Scout Den mother, and an All-Star basketball player at Duluth
Highschool in Duluth, Georgia. She was very courageous, fearless and lead a very full
life with her husband and other loving friends traveling all but two of the United
States including Alaska, to seven provinces in Canada, Ireland and Scotland. She
always put others before herself, never wanting any recognition or accolades for
her service as she preferred to stay out of the spotlight. Sherry was a devout
Christian, wonderful wife, sister, mother, grandmother, friend, and helpmate for
all who were blessed to know her. Sherry is greatly missed here on earth. Heaven
has gained a most wonderful Angel and we are sure she is wearing her signature
red lipstick!
