Allison Renae Wilson passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 21, 2023, after a long, hard,
well fought battle for the past 8 years.
Allison was born on September 16, 1974 to Danny and Nancy Thomas in Charleston WV. After Al graduated from Gauley Bridge High School in 1992 she went on to study nursing at Marshall University. Allison worked at Montgomery General Hospital, CAMC, and finished her career as a school nurse for Kanawha County Schools.
Allison loved spending time with her family. She loved boating and fishing on the Kanawha River. She also loved sitting on the beach.
Allison was loved by many and always had a smile on her face that lit up a room.
Allison is survived by her loving husband of 25 years Joe, and her 2 beautiful daughters Savannah and Madison. Parents Danny and Nancy Thomas of Dixie, sisters Sara Hibbett (Kevin) of Elko, NV, Gina Smith (Dustin) of Boomer, Angela Taylor (Brett) of Mt Carbon. Parents-In-Law Gordon and Peggy Short of Smithers. Brother-in-law Josh Wilson (Courtney) of Beckley. Nieces Abigail Taylor and Catelyn Wilson, Nephews Cayden Taylor and Josh Wilson.
Service will be at 2pm on Monday June 26, 2023, at O'Dell Funeral Home in Montgomery with Pastor Gary Drake and Reverend John Houghton officiating. Burial will follow at Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens in Glasgow. Friends may come at noon for visitation prior to the funeral service.
