He was born on March 5, 1929, a son of the late Albert Terry Lewis, Sr. and Lucille Belle Lewis Brumfield. He lived all his life in the Danville area where he worked for 31 years at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company where he also served as the first union president. He was a founding member of URW Credit Union. He was a Korean War veteran who proudly served his country in the United States Army. He attended White Oak Worship Center. In his spare time, he enjoyed working in his yard, working on cars, and traveling,
On July 4, 1957, he married Patsy Jane Byrd Lewis, who predeceased him on September 16, 2008.
He is survived his wife of twelve years, Voinda Price Lewis, of the residence; and a daughter, Patricia Lewis Richie and husband John.
In addition to his parents and first wife, he was predeceased by a brother, James Brumfield, of Warrenton, VA.
