Lyndall T. "Ben" Cox, 82, passed peacefully in his home in Carrollton, IL, June 25, 2023.
He was the son of Courtland and Edith "Susie" Cox, brother to Charlotte "Babe" Rodgers, Joyce Chaney, Stuart Cox, and Marilyn Teeters, significant other of 27 years to Dallas Lawrence, proud father of son Dennis (Pam) Cox of Carrollton, son Kelly (Rhonda) Cox of Carrollton, daughter Kathy Nolan (companion Brett Ballinger) of Eldred, son Robert "Bobby" Cox of Eldred, daughter, Carolyn (Tyke) Crum of Roodhouse, son Kyle (Dawn) Cox of Carrollton, step-daughter Wendy (Tommy) Turner of Jerseyville, his fur babies, Bubbles Sr., Gizzy and Bubbles Jr. and grandfather to many loved grandchildren, great- grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Ben was preceded in death by his daughter Carolyn, brother Stuart, granddaughter, Janelle and his parents.
Ben loved to cook and many enjoyed his infamous fish fritters, he was a great carpenter, building many houses in his younger years with his Dad in the Greene and Jersey county area. Ben was an avid gardener, enjoyed raising many types of birds and loved animals of all kinds! His smile was one of a kind!
A graveside memorial will be held at Eldred Memorial Gardens 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2023. Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, Ben would like memorial donations given to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals at www.ascpa.org, his grandsons Foundation, The Coltyn Turner Foundation at www.thecoltynturnerfoundation.org, or the American Cancer Society in honor of his grandson, Benji Cox.
