Gladys M. (Kuhn) Mentzer, 100, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2023 in the Leland of Laurel Run, Waynesboro. Born August 21, 1922 in Waynesboro, PA she was the daughter of the late Albert C. and Sarah C. (Copenhaver) Kuhn. Mrs. Mentzer was a lifelong resident of the Waynesboro area. Mrs. Mentzer was a graduate of the Waynesboro High School with the class of 1940. She and her late husband, Mr. James G. Mentzer, Jr. were married July 7, 1951 in Fayetteville, PA. They shared 31 years together when he passed away August 15, 1980. Mrs. Mentzer was employed as a bookkeeper at Miller's Furniture Store for 27 years and then at Pryor's Tire Service for 12 years. She retired in 1981. She was a lifelong member of Otterbein Church, Waynesboro where she was active in the Helping Hands Sunday School Class, the Quilting Club and volunteered during renovation projects over the years. She enjoyed quilting and tending to her flower beds. Mrs. Mentzer is survived by one daughter, Nancy Cline and her husband Fred of Waynesboro; one granddaughter, Christine Cline and her husband Angel Venacio of Stephens City, VA; three great-grandsons, Nicolas, Andrew and James Venacio; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she is preceded in death by three sisters, Mildred Kuhn, Margie Herr and Alma Frantz; and three brothers, Ralph Kuhn, Charles Kuhn, and Harry Kuhn.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, June 29, 2023 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 South Broad St., Waynesboro with Pastor John Hoffman officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
