Cheri Bernice (Worthen) Holyoak passed away peacefully on June 18, 2023, at her winter home in Mesa, Arizona. Cheri was born March 17, 1948, in Cedar City, Utah to James A. Worthen and Wilma Justet. She attended Parowan High School where she met [name omitted]. They were married in Parowan, Utah on May 29, 1964, and sealed together for time and all eternity in the Saint George Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on May 29, 1965. [Name omitted] joined the Navy which took them back and forth across the country, ultimately settling in Bremerton, Washington. After retiring they began splitting time between Bremerton during the summers and Mesa during the winters.
Cheri is survived by her husband, [name omitted]; her four children, [names omitted]; her 15 grandchildren; her stepfather [name omitted]; and her five siblings, [names omitted]. She was preceded in death by her father and mother.
Cheri loved music and was a talented songwriter and performer. She played the piano and guitar and had a beautiful singing voice. Her love of music was passed on to her children. She was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, volunteering her time and talents in service of God and her neighbors, including serving a military relations mission with her husband to the Camp Pendleton Military Installation. She touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed.
A visitation will be held Friday, June 30, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 pm at Lewis Chapel at 5303 Kitsap Way, Bremerton, Washington 98312. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 1, 2023, at 11:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel at 2225 Perry Ave, Bremerton, Washington 98310, and broadcast via Zoom at https://www.zoom.us/join Meeting ID 2654009393 Passcode 3738.
