At an early age Conjetta went to church with her parents where she played the piano at Sunday Services and also taught Sunday School. She received numerous awards throughout her school years. In the early years of WWII, she supported the war by donating blood and then later on she went to work for Webster Electric and became a munitions inspector. It was during that time when her brother-in-law Wesley Rolfe asked her if she would like to correspond with his friend Andrew Toto. They wrote to each for eighteen months before Andrew was back stateside and granted leave. He went to Racine to meet Conjetta. They were in love through their writings and confirmed that when they met. They were married before the two weeks ended.

After Andrew was discharged, they lived in Racine for several years before they decided to move back to Andrew's home state of Colorado where she lived the next 74 years of her life raising her family.

In Colorado, she worked at and retired from Macy's Department Store after fifteen years of service. Her hobbies included cooking, baking, crocheting and knitting. She loved making baby blankets for family and friends, finishing the last one at age 103.
