Margaret M. "Peg" Algor Jopson, 89, of Newark, DE, passed away at Christiana Hospital June 8, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. Born in South Belmar, NJ on May 22, 1925, Peg was the daughter of the late William W. Algor and Hazel C. Morris Smith. Active in many organizations, Peg was a charter and life member of the New Ark Fife and Drum Corps and also volunteered at the Newark Senior Center. She also was a volunteer and mentor for HOST (Help One Student to Achieve); and was a life member of Aetna Hose Hook and Ladder for many years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed homemade cooking, gardening, going for drives on Main Street and enjoyed any time the family got together. Peg was also proud of being a survivor of both polio and cancer.

She is survived by her sons, William G. "Gurnie" Jopson (Edna) of Townsend, and E. Scott Jopson of North Wilmington; 4 grandchildren, Kyle, Kelly, Lawrence and Mary; and 4 great grandchildren, Kassy, Mason, Isabella and Archer.

According to her wishes, her remains were donated to the University of Delaware School of Life and Health Sciences. Services will be held at R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, 122 West Main St., Newark, DE 19711 on Sunday October 19, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. with a visitation at the funeral home beginning at 2:00.
