The property left by the late Alex Carter and bequeathed to by his Will to his daughter, the late Mrs Amanda Adams, wife of Mr. D.L. Adams, and at her death to her surviving children, has been divided up among the heirs as follows: (Condensed wording)

Miss Lilly Adams - Belk house, lot and land on Dunlap St.

Carter Adams - Cureton house and land from Draffin tract.

James Adams - Draffin house and land

The total estate was appraised at $9,000 was divided up.

The 1900 census stated D.L. married in 1888 to Ida, which indicates that Amanda died before 1888, but Adams Family Bible on Ancestry shows that D.L. Adams married Ida Jackson Jones on Jan 15, 1896, so Amanda died before 1896.
