FRANK ELLIS IS DEAD A FORMER TAX COLLECTOR OP FREEPORT EXPIRES AFTER LONG ILLNESS.
Frank W. Ellis, a life long resident of Freeport, died at his home on Mechanic street Tuesday evening at 8 o'clock. Mr. Ellis had been an invalid for many years, being unable to do any active work for the past fifteen years. His affliction was nerve trouble and his strength gradually wasted away.
Four years ago he lost the use of his limbs and since that time the decline has been steady. Mr. Ellis was nearly 60 years of age, having been born July 9, 1858. His birthplace was Freeport, and he has resided here all his life. During his active career he was, for the greater part of the time, connected with the railroad, and he was widely and favorably known among railroad men.
He was also a former tax collector for Freeport. Mr. Ellis was married Jan. 4, 1880, to Miss Josephine Chapple, who survives him. He leaves no children, but there are several brothers and sisters, who are well known residents of Freeport.
They are: Joseph Ellis, John Ellis, Mrs. Edward Bushelle and Mrs. Rose Young. The funeral of Mr. Ellis will be held at the home tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock, conducted by Rev.
F. J. Bate. The funeral will be private. Friends are requested not to bring flowers.
