"TWO DEATHS FROM 'FLU' AT EVELETH

Eveleth, Minn., Jan, 4.--(Special to The Herald)--No influenza cases have been reported here for three days. There are three active cases among Evelethians and three people from the Pit location near Elba are at the detention hospital. During the week two deaths occurred as a result of influenza, one of which was from Elba. A total of 527 cases have been reported to the health department so far.

Marani Mariucci, 25, died at his home, 802 Adams avenue, Tuesday from pneumonia, following influenza. Burial was at Eveleth cemetery Thursday. He lived in Eveleth for the last four years. He is survived by his wife and five children. Rev. Gerardo Penta officated at the short funeral service which was held from the Helps-Shea undertaking establishment.

Nick Persha of Elba died Wednesday at the quarantine hospital from influena-pneumonia. He is survived by his wife, who is still ill at the local detention hospital."
