Douglas Harcourt Galbraith, 91, of Calgary, AB passed away on November 9, 2010, following a lengthy period of declining health. He was born May 6, 1919, in Calgary, and grew up on the family farm near Vulcan. He attended high school in Nanton, and graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1941. He married Violet Berge in Edmonton in 1942, and they returned to live on the farm until 1965, when the family moved to Edmonton, then to Calgary in 1966. Doug is predeceased by his wife of fifty-two years Violet, infant son Robert James, and his brothers Robert (Mary) and Curly (Doris). He is survived by his wife Jeannette, his children Stewart (Shirley), Judy (Garry Colpitts) and Susan (Brent Warne) as well as eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
