Delores spent 50 years as a teacher at Immaculate Conception and Pocola Public Schools and was a member of Haven Heights Baptist Church for 50 years. She was a Godly woman who loved reading her bible and making notes in it. She also loved sports and assisted with transforming Lady Razorback Women's Basketball from intramural to competitive competition. She also enjoyed traveling and reading but in her younger years she enjoyed riding motorcycles with the love her life, Lon William Bugg. In fact, their first date was riding motorcycles. She also loved her family.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents Carl Timothy Willis and Viva Anne Willis as well as sister Glenda Lou Nell Willis.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 51 years Lon William Bugg of the home, sons Lon Carl Bugg and his wife Andrea of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, Brian Bugg and his wife Robin of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Keith Bugg and his wife SaraJane of Fort Smith, Arkansas, brothers Carl Willis and his wife Charla of Round Rock, Texas and Charles Willis and his wife Barbara of Paragould, Arkansas along with four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A celebration of Delores' life will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, July 6, 2023 at Haven Heights Baptist Church 7701 US-271 in Fort Smith with Dr. Steve Young officiating. Interment will be at Steephill Cemetery in Fort Smith.
Pallbearers will be Lon Carl Bugg, Brian Bugg, Keith Bugg, Greg Willis, Tim Willis and Travis Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers will be SaraJane Bugg, Andrea Bugg, Robin Bugg, David Powell and all of her former students.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm Wednesday July 5, 2023 at Lewis Funeral Chapel 4817 Kelley Hwy in Fort Smith.
