Ruby "Darlene" Stoltz, 87, was born September 19th, 1935, to George and Maudie (Mitchell) Musgrave in Kibbie, IL. She attended Kibbie Grade School followed by Oblong High School. Darlene entered the workforce as a fountain worker at Harmons drug store. Then she went on to work at Oblong Elementary School as a cook, before going to work at Ablinger and Kirts Hardware Store saying, "it was the best job she ever had." While working at A&K, she ran a cake business out of her home (Darlene's Country Cakery). If you were lucky enough, you could get the leftovers. She was a member of the Oblong Young Homemakers. She catered Auctions and Crawford County Banquets with her sister Patsy and sister-in-law Jo Ann. She worked the Oblong Food Pantry for many years. Darlene was a devout Christian and a member of the White Oak Church, later in life transferring her membership of faith to the First Christian Church of Oblong.

On December 7th, 1956, she married Norman Dean Stoltz, the love of her life for 66 years and he survives. Collier & Cleo Stoltz; three brothers-in law and sisters-in-law Herbert & Verna Stoltz, Marion & Vivian Stoltz, Selvin & Gene Stoltz, and sister-in-law Carol Edgington.

Mom was always willing to lend a listening ear to whoever wanted to talk. She loved spending time with family, friends, and especially her dear sister Patsy. She loved playing piano, quilting (all by hand), painting, working in her flower beds, and gardens. She loved sitting in the shed watching Dad do his woodworking. Her famous sugar cookies and apple pies will be missed by all. Oops! Don't forget the noodles! She is loved and missed by all.

We would like to send our love to our Arbor Rose Family. To the employees and residents, you will forever be in our hearts. We love you all.
