DEATH TAKES LONG TIME RESIDENT OF WAYAN
Funeral services for Vera Dray Sibbett, 66, of Wayan were held Wednesday, March 3 at the Idaho Stake Center in Soda Springs with Bishop Odell Stoor of the Grays Lake Ward L.D.S. Church conducting. Mrs. Sibbett passed away Sunday afternoon, Feb. 28, at the Caribou Memorial Hospital following a stroke.
The family prayer was by MiShael Leavitt. The prelude and postlude were played by Colleen Layland. The invocation was offered by Edwin B. Smith. Bishop Stoor read the obituary. Glade G. Sibbett was the speaker. Verjean Somsen and Margaret Stoor, accompanied by Pat Stoor, sang, "That Wonderful Mother of Mine."
Eliza Lei Sibbett and Judy Sibbett, accompanied by Linda LeCheminant, sang "Sometime We'll Understand". Bishop Lynn Barnes gave the benediction. Reed Humphreys offered the dedicatory prayer.
Pallbearers were Morgan Leavitt, Ray Ostler, Oscar Vias, Russell Sibbett, Leith Somsen and Frank Stoor.
The floral arrangements were by the Grays Lake Ward Relief Society, Leitha Tingey president.
Mrs. Sibbett was born April 22, 1904, at Smoot, Wyoming, to Edson and Amanda Grimm Dray. She was married to Cecil Sibbett September 3, 1929 at Preston.
She served as work leader in the Grays Lake Ward Relief Society, had exhibited oil paintings at fairs in the area and enjoyed gardening and flower raising.
Survivors are her husband of Wayan, three sons and one daughter, James Osmond of Los Angeles, L.R. Sibbett of Soda Springs, Blaine Sibbett of Grace and Mrs. Wesley (Gayle) Pike of Cokevill, Wyo., 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Services were under the direction of the Allen Funeral Home with burial in the Fairview Cemetery.
