Mrs. Julia Ann Irvin, 85, of 159 Burlington Road, Walterboro, died Saturday, March 17, 2007, at her residence under the care of Odyssey Health Care Hospice. She was the wife of the late Mr. Vollie Wilson Irvin.
Mrs. Irvin was born Dec. 3, 1921, in Hinton, W.Va., and was the daughter of the late Joseph Allen and Effie Ann( Buckland) Allen. She was a retired seamstress from Smoaks Dress Plant and Walterboro Dress Plant and had attended the Walterboro Church of Gold.
Survivors include a daughter Regina A. Wiggins of Walterboro; three sons, Marvin W. Irvin of Manning, Calvin W. Irvin of Fort Smith, Ark., and Michael S. Irvin of Orangeburg; two brothers, Lawrence Allen of Beckley, W Va. and Tom Allen of Chicago, Ill.; two sisters, Lizzie Stewart of New York and Beulah Hendricks of Jacksonville, Fla.; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, for those that wish, the family suggested that memorial contributions be directed in her memory to Odyssey Health Care Hospice, 3870 Leeds Ave., Suite 109, North Charleston, SC. 29405.
