He was predeceased by his loving Wife, Gerardine (Gerry) Schindler Paisant, his parents, Alvin Sr. and Myrtle Gerstner Paisant, brother, Alvin Paisant Jr, sister, Mary Lynn Paisant and Sister in law, Patricia Clark Paisant.
He is survived by his devoted Sister, Sr. Immaculata Paisant; Marianite of Holy Cross and his four loving children. Margaret Paisant Kopfler (Mike), Elizabeth Paisant Winchester (Donald) John E. Paisant Jr. (Jeanne) and Daniel S. Paisant Sr. (Raeann).
John had 6 grandchildren. Austin J Winchester, Emily I Winchester, John E. Paisant III (Blair Positerry) Cecilia G. Paisant, Daniel S. Paisant Jr, and Meredith E. Paisant (Robin-Renee Keys). He also leaves behind his loving Step Grandchildren; Michael D. Kopfler (Amy), Christopher A. Kopfler, Susan Kopfler Rincon and Matthew E. Kopfler (Natalia), plus 5 step great granddaughters; Antonia Rincon Poston (Elijah) and Caroline, Hailey, Taegen and Anna Kopfler.
Additionally, he is survived by his loving and devoted nephew, Sindey E. Paisant (Susan), to whom he was a second father for the last 38 years.
John was a proud graduate of Jesuit High School Class of 1951 and Loyola University Class of 1955. He had a long and successful career as General Manager of The Southern Yacht Club, The Plimsoll Club, and The New Orleans Country Club.
John was truly "A man for others" as evidenced by his many religious and social affiliations. He was a lecter and Adoration Chapel member at St Clement of Rome Parish, a tireless member of the Knights of Columbus Ludivicum Council where he held many leadership roles, The Monday Night Disciples, and The Serra Club. He was a member of the Washington Artillery, Good Olde Metry Boys, The Jesuit High School class of 1951, monthly SYC Luncheon club and several card groups.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Visitation at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Apr 20, 2023, at St. Angela Merici Church, 901 Beverly Garden Dr. Metairie, LA 70002, followed by a Funeral Mass at noon. Interment in St. Vincent de Paul.
