Joseph Faribault Kitchen, Jr., "Joe/Bubba" went home to be with his Lord on Friday, July 7, 2023, at 87 years young, following a lengthy illness.

Joe was born November 29, 1935, in Houston, Texas, to Joseph Farabault Kitchen, Sr. and Doris Beulah Hibbard. He was reared in Galveston, along with his four siblings Betty Thibadeaux, Bobbie Moncebiaz, Mel Kitchen, and Sandy Laird who have preceded him in death.

He is survived by his loving wife, two sons, a daughter, eight grandchildren, and a great-grandson.

Joe will be remembered by his wide smile and twinkling blue eyes. Those were the outward display of the joy he held in his heart and endeavored to give away to anyone that crossed his path. His passions were his family, singing, and teaching the Word of God. He was outgoing and loved to show off whenever the chance arose!

He was our hero, over and over again, as he battled illnesses. No matter what this earthly life threw at him, he always kept his big smile. He always chose joy.

Joe would tell you that he wasn't a perfect man (whenever he wasn't jokingly telling you how perfect he was!). And, he wasn't a perfect man, but he made a decision to follow hard after his Savior, Jesus Christ. He studied God's word and shared his understanding with those who would hear. He taught his family, friends, co-workers, and strangers. He allowed the light of Jesus within him to shine outwardly... and his bright light continues to shine through the many lives that he touched.

Psalm 28:7
The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and He helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise Him.
