Services for Jerry Douglas Anding, 59, of Athens are scheduled for 10 am Saturday at Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Hiser officiating. Burial will follow at Becks Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home of Athens. Mr. Anding died Oct. 30, 2003, in a Tyler hospital. He was born Feb. 14, 1944, in Henderson County to the late Douglas "D.B." and Ellen Fuller Anding. Mr. Anding was a lifelong resident of Athens. He was on the Athens High School football team from 1959 until 1963. He was one of the first four-year lettermen in football at the high school. He was a retired service technician in the construction and convenience store industries. He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Douglas Scott Anding, in 1989. Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Patricia Anding of Athens; sisters and brothers-in-law, Murleen and Pete Stockard of Athens and Peggy and B.J. Bass of Dallas; and special friend Nedra Trull of Kemp. Pallbearers will be Steve Anding, Gary Young, Tommy Stockard, Jeff Young, Dan Barnes and Doug Bass. Honorary pallbearers will include Danny Cummings, Joe Deupree, Martin Stockard, Brian Wilbanks, Jason Anding, Gary Craig, Kelly Morgan and Jimmy Young. Family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Friday at the funeral home.
