Donald Eugene Anderson, age 71, of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas, passed away Friday, February 29, 2008, at the Conway Regional Medical Center in Conway, Arkansas. He was born in Austin, Minnesota, on May 21, 1936, to the late Arthur and Ruth (Peterson) Anderson.

He was a retired Administrative Building Official for the State of Minnesota and lived in St. Peter and on Lake Allie. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served three years with a tour in Germany. His religious beliefs were Presbyterian and Lutheran. He was a Master Mason and a Shriner. He married Carol Anderson on August 23, 1996, after the death of his first wife. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, and loved to play guitar with a passion for playing and listening to Blue Grass music. He purchased his first home in Arkansas eight years ago.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Marlys Anderson, three brothers, and three sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Anderson of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas; one son, Troy Anderson and wife, Jennifer, of Columbus, Ohio; three daughters, Colette Tauer and husband, Kevin, of Cottage Grove, Minnesota, Jodi Anderson and Oliver Skillings of New Ulm, Minnesota; and Amy Yu and husband, Chong, of San Jose, California; three stepchildren, Thaedra Ehrler, Shannon and husband, Tony Ciszewski, and Erich Ehrler of Minnesota, and thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is also survived by many relatives and his dearest friends.

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 1, 2008, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the Kirk of the Hills at Fairfield Bay with a memorial service beginning at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Robert Hadley officiating. A funeral service will be held at Red Oak Grove Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie, MN, on Tuesday, March 4, at 10:00 a.m. with interment immediately after in the Red Oak Grove Cemetery. A viewing at the church will begin at 9:00 a.m. Arrangements are by Olmstead Funeral Home, Inc.
