She served on to the National Assembly until 1985 when she was appointed as a Continental Counsellor for the Americas for a five year term. In 1986 she was appointed as Administrator of the Bahá'í International Community's offices in New York and she visited the World Centre in the Holy Land at the beginning of her term of service. She was reappointed as Counsellor in 1990 and 1995.
In her career she has served as Vice President for Development and Public Relations for Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia.
As of 2001 she had married Firuz Kazemzadeh, and they remained married until his passing in 2017.
