Donald Adams, 52, a longtime Eagle River resident, died Feb. 6, 1996, at the Veterans Hospital in Madison, Wis. A funeral Mass was held at St. Marys Catholic Church in Tomahawk, Wis. The Rev. Gerald Harris officiated. The family received friends until service time.

Mr. Adams was born Aug. 7, 1943, in Tomahawk to John and Ivy Adams. He graduated from Tomahawk High School in 1961 and attended Florida State College, Sacramento State College and special investigator academies. Mr. Adams owned and operated a private investigation office out of his home in Eagle River, where he lived from 1972 until 1995. He returned to Tomahawk in October. Mr. Adams had extensive experience and advanced training in criminal, fraud, background, counterintelligence and counterespionage investigations, counter-terrorism and executive and commercial security. He was a Vietnam veteran and lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Disabled American Vets, Lions International and various law enforcement agencies. He married the former Cheri Levingston on July 16, 1994, in Alaska.

Survivors include his wife, Cheri of Tomahawk; mother, Ivy of Tomahawk; daughter, Christine Sebaugh of Alaska; stepdaughter, Patti Soria of Alaska; three stepsons, Danny, Joe and Jim Adams, all of Florida; brother, Tom Adams of Alaska; sister, Mary Lokken of Madison; and six grandchildren. Krueger and Sons Funeral Home in Tomahawk handled arrangements.
