Florence D Bayer Casey, 96, of Mount Vernon, Illinois died at 2 pm Saturday, March 22, 2014 at White Oak Rehabilitation and Health Center in Mount Vernon, Illinois.
She was born on Saturday, January 26, 1918 in Mount Vernon, Illinois to parents, Arthur and Mary (Greathouse) Raney.
She first married Otto Bayer on March 29, 1932 and he preceded her in death in 1973.
She later married Howard Casey in 1974 and he preceded her in death in 1989.
Florence is survived by her son: Danny Lee Bayer of Mount Vernon, Illinois, grandson: Kevin Bayer of Mount Vernon, Illinois, granddaughter: Denise Campise of Mount Vernon, Illinois, six great grandchildren, and sister-in-law: Loretta Raney of Mount Vernon, Illinois.
Her parents, both husbands, three sisters: Lillian Henry; Virginia Buskool and husband Henry; and Dorothy Dethrow and husband Ralph, and one brother: Arthur "Babe" Raney preceded her in death.
Florence worked as the owner and operator of Bayer Grocery for 41 years and was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church. Previous
