Calvin H. 'Cal' Davey, lovingly known to his family as Joey, 83, of St. Petersburg, Florida, died Sunday, January 13, 2002 at Edward White Hospital. He was born in West Pittston, PA and moved to St. Petersburg in 1959 from Northville, NY. He was a 1938 graduate of Allentown, PA Bible Institute with a ministerial and music degree and was a music evangelist with R. N. Raycroft and travelled all across the country. He was a former music director at the First Church Of The Nazarene St. Petersburg and was active in the St. Petersburg Male Chorus. He was a transport driver for Open Road Campers and a car courier for Autoway Toyota (formerly Sutherlin Toyota) for twelve years then was a courier for H&R Block Tax Service for 18 years. He was a charter member of the First Church Of The Nazarene Pinellas Park where he was a member of the Sanctuary Choir. During WW II, He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a Teletype Mechanic Instructor.

He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Helen Davey; 4 daughters, Carolyn McElyea, Maxine (Butch) Johnson, Dawn (Richard) Cupac, Beth (Doug) Warner; one brother: Kenneth C. (Betty) Davey; four stepchildren: 7 Grandchildren; 7 Great Grandchildren and many other nephews, nieces, cousins, and step grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: his wife of 48 years, Lela K. Davey, his granddaughter, Taylor Marie Brown, his parents Robert Charles Davey and Bertha Hosier Davey.
