Nahla Mahmoud and her three children, Mariam, Marwa, and Mohamad, were all killed in a US-backed Syrian coalition airstrike in al-Badu, Raqqa, on August 14th, 2017. The strikes destroyed a five-story building, killing Nahla and family while they were sheltering on the ground floor. The building then collapsed on a nearby one-story house, killing five members of the al-Hassan family. The al-Shehab family's bodies were all entombed under the rubble, unable to be recovered.
