Diane Matherne Landry, 82, of Pierre Part, Louisiana, passed away on March 23, 2023, at home surrounded by her family after a long battle of illness. She was born in Pierre Part, Louisiana, to Percy and Annette Matherne on October 5, 1940. She was raised in Pierre Part her entire life.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who cherished all of her family and friends. Diane enjoyed watching her grandkids and great grandkids play in her backyard. She was a great cook and would always entertain the family on Sundays.
Diane was a devoted caregiver. She never left her husband's side during his illness or hospital stays. Caring for her family was her passion as she cared for several members in her family until their passing.
She was a devout Catholic who cherished her faith. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church and a member of the Bereavement Committee.
Diane is survived by her four children; Purnell Landry (SomYong), Rachel Landry, Stewart Landry (Katti), and Chad Landry (Shanna); nineteen grandchildren, Katie Landry, Seth Landry, Tyler Landry (Maddie), Toni Bourg (Cole), Alexandra Landry, Cade Landry, Austin Landry, Charlie Landry, Zachary Landry, Zoey Landry, Dylan Landry, Ethan Landry, Matthew Pierce, Scott Pierce, Bridgette Pierce, Brittany Pierce, Brittany Robichaux, Candice Theriot, and Scott Leonard; twelve great grandchildren, Ava Dinino, Autumn Dinino, Aubrey Dinino, Mia Landry, Lillian Landry, Jane Bourg, Josie Bourg, Mylee Robichaux, Bentley Robichaux, Carter Theriot, Sarah Theriot, and Braxton Theriot; four siblings, Earl Matherne (Alta "Tot"), Stanley Matherne (Rita), Myrtle Landry (Duffy), and Eleanor Landry (Earl).
Diane is preceded in death by her husband, Edmond Landry; parents, Percy and Annette Matherne, and two brothers, Ritley Matherne and baby Matherne.
A visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home in Pierre Part, Louisiana, on Monday, March 27, 2023 from 7:30am until Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church at 11am. Interment to follow in the church mausoleum.
