Selma was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a lifetime member of Roseni Lutheran Church and a member of the American Lutheran Church Women. After her marriage in 1923, she and her husband farmed in the Roseni community until their retirement in 1959 when they moved into Alcester.
