Joshua M. Harness, age 25, of Quincy, died Sunday, July 16, 2023, at 5:44 pm in Springfield Memorial Hospital, Springfield, IL.


Joshua was born March 23, 1998 in Quincy, Illinois, the son of Roy Dean and Pamela Kay Williams Harness.


Joshua was a graduate of Quincy High School and worked for two years at the Harrison St. Hy-Vee in Quincy. Joshua was a very kind and caring individual. He was always looking out for others and enjoyed helping those in need in whatever capacity was required of him. He wanted to be a blessing to those around him. He has been described as being incredibly kind, thoughtful, and helpful. Joshua was a member of Quincy Faith Church. His faith was an important part of his life. He loved volunteering, ministering to people, and praying for those in need. In his spare time, Joshua enjoyed being outdoors, enjoying nature, and hunting. If you had ever seen his smile, you'll never forget it.


Survivors include: his parents, Roy and Pamela Harness of Quincy; two brothers, Joel and Jacob Harness of Quincy; his grandmother, Shirley Luker of Quincy; two uncles, Ron (Stacey) Harness of St. Louis, MO, and Don Harness of Quincy; and numerous cousins.


Joshua was preceded in death by: his maternal grandparents, Norman Jr. and Betty Williams; his paternal grandfather, Kenneth Harness; and his grandpa, Jeff Luker.


Visitation: 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Wednesday July 26, 2023 at Quincy Faith Church (4000 State St., Quincy).


Graveside Services: 10:00 am Thursday, July 27, 2023 at Greenmount Cemetery, with Rev. Danny Schluckebier officiating. Inurnment will follow.
