Born June 19, 1940, in Easton, PA, he was a son of the late Joseph and Margaret Corpora. His wife of 59 years, Nancy J. (Jones) Corpora, passed away April 11, 2021.
Joe graduated from Easton High School in 1958. He worked for Brown Daub for a year after high school. In June of 1959, he started in construction as a cement finisher. Joe joined Local 8, Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Union, serving as vice president at one time. In his spare time, he remodeled many homes for friends and family.
He enjoyed going to casinos in Atlantic City, drinking 7 & 7's with family and friends, listening to Italian music, and Sunday dinners with family.
Joe was a life member of the Castel Club since 1969, serving as a volunteer cook for many years. He was also a life member of Liberty Hose Co., Citizens Hose Co., the former Order of Fleas, Jacksonian Club, West Easton Athletic Association and Wilson Borough Republican Club. Joe was a member of Varsity E. He was of the Catholic faith.
Surviving are his six children, Joseph A. Corpora III and his wife Karen, of Palmer Township, Jeffrey A. Corpora and his wife Cindy, of Nazareth, Georgene M. Corpora, of Palmer Township, Michael P. Corpora, of Palmer Township, Daniel G. Corpora and his wife Kelly, of Easton, and David M. Corpora, of Palmer Township; a brother, Placido Corpora and his wife Victoria, of Palmer Township, a sister, Vancy Rinaldi, of Easton; nine grandchildren, Mark and his wife Dianna, Ryan, Ty, Joseph IV and his wife Shannon, Connor, Anthony and his wife Sarah, Gannon, Patrick and his wife Amber, and Gianna; a great-granddaughter, Bria; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Dominick Vito Corpora and four sisters, Fannie Lupi, Anna Wyker, Bessie Mosellie and Mary Grace Corpora, who died in infancy.
Services will be held at 10 am Monday in the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., 2101 Northampton Street, Wilson Borough. Call Sunday 5-7 pm and Monday 9-10 am in the funeral home. Burial will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine.
