Roland Lee Wolfe
January 4, 1936 - July 12, 2023

Roland Lee Wolfe, age 87, of Redmond Oregon, passed away Wednesday, July 12th, 2023. Roland "Ron" was born in Almena, Kansas, January 4, 1936 and was the son of the late Lee Andrew Wolfe and Merl Edna Swindell. He is survived by his wife Mildred "Millie" Wolfe, his sister Sharon Leigh Thorbeck, his daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Ken Webb, his son and daughter-in-law Steve and Ann Wolfe, his grandchildren Meagan and husband Matt Cinder, Molly Webb, Maggie Webb, Jordan Wolfe, Kristen Wolfe, Lauren Wolfe, Max Wolfe and Natalie Wolfe. Ron and Millie have three great grandchildren, Webb, Hattie and Emma Cinder.

Ron (or affectionately called Papa) will be remembered for his fun and adventurous spirit and his love for golf, pickleball, motorcycles, snowmobiles, softball, skiing, and the shooting range. He was one of the original pickle ball players to play at Eagle Crest and he was fondly known as one of the "Baker Boys" in golf. He loved Elvis and rock n roll and would play it as he drove. He loved Jesus and went on seventeen mission trips playing his guitar and speaking Spanish. He was a member of the Spanish Club in Redmond, and he and mom enjoyed supper clubs and golf together.

He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War stationed in Alaska.

He met Millie in College at Oregon College of Education in Monmouth and they were married for 64 years.

Ron and Millie raised their family in Salem Oregon and he worked as a Professional Civil Engineer for the State Highway Department of Oregon. He worked on many of the highway projects that we both love and hate such as traffic circles and the stop lights entering the freeways. He would point out features on the highway that were his projects.

They were members at Calvary Baptist Church and he enjoyed close friends from mission trips and the church league softball team.

Ron and Millie retired and have lived in Eagle Crest for the past 30 years. They are members of Redmond Community Church.

He will be greatly missed by family and friends, neighbors, golf and pickle ball buddies for his fun and competitive spirit, the twinkle in his eye and the way he made us laugh. Ron was dearly loved by his family and friends and we grieve with hope knowing he is with the Lord.

There will be a Celebration of Life service at Redmond Community Church on Monday, July 24th at 2:00 pm with light snacks and dessert served after.

Ron will be honored with a burial at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland on Tuesday, July 25th at 1:00p.m.. (You are requested to be there 15 minutes ahead of this time). 11800 SE Mt. Scott Blvd. Happy Valley, OR 97086.
