KINGWOOD — Anna Virginia McCabe, 92, of Kingwood died Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Windy Hill Village in Kingwood.

Virginia was born Feb. 19, 1926 in Flemington, a daughter of the late Ted L. and Louise (Hauser) Helmick.

She was a well-known seamstress in the Kingwood area, having worked at the Wash-In-Shop and the Kingwood Cleaners. After her retirement from Foodland, she continued to sew and quilt, as well as working in her vegetable and flower gardens. She was a member of the Kingwood Baptist Church.

Virginia is survived by one daughter, Shirley David of Bayville, N.J.; one daughter-in-law, Charlotte (Wilson) McCabe of Kingwood; two grandchildren, Melissa "Missy" and Austin Comstock of Kingwood and Rachel and Will Freeer of Bayville, N.J.; five great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Skyler Comstock, Sara Freer, Leah and Jason Wolcott and Jacob Freer; two great-great grandchildren, Elizabeth Cooley and Jane Wolcott; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward McCabe; one son, Wilbur Dale McCabe; one sister, Mary Ruth Bell; three brothers, Norman, Glen and Wilbur Helmick; one son-in-law, Frank David.

Family and friends may call at the Rotruck-Lobb Kingwood Chapel, 295 S. Price St., on Wednesday, March 28, from 4-8 p.m. and on Thursday, March 29, from 10 a.m. to the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Kevin Sions officiating. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Kingwood.
